On a local level the ULYP-Pittsburgh goals are as follows: (i) to support the Urban League of Pittsburgh in achieving its overarching initiatives of equal access and opportunity, self-reliance, and parity for African Americans in the greater Pittsburgh region (ii) to provide a forum for young professionals that fosters professional development, community service, social awareness, political participation, and private enterprise for young African American professionals in the greater Pittsburgh region; (iii) to develop outreach programs targeted to African American youth who reside in the greater Pittsburgh region. Designed to draw more young people to the National Urban League movement, members of ULYP-Pittsburgh are attracting the next generation of young leaders, entrepreneurs and civil servants for the Urban League thus the region.

ULYP-PITTSBURGH "Leaders of the Future" SCHOLARSHIP
The Urban League Young Professionals of Pittsburgh (ULYP) has established the "Leaders of the Future" Scholarship. Students are eligible for this $1000 award if you meet all of the following criteria:
* A United States Citizen * An African-American * A resident of Allegheny County * A current high school senior * A student with at least a cumulative 2.5 GPA or equivalent
The following Students were the recipients of this years award:
Latoya Lewis School: Taylor Alderdice GPA 3.8 Accepted at the following schools: University of Maryland, Penn State University, Ohio University, Temple University and Robert Morris University.
Stacey Kinsel School: David B. Oliver GPA: 3.77 Accepted at the following schools: University of Pittsburgh and Temple University
