United Way Women's Leadership Breakfast 2009 The Civic Engagement Committee works to raise social awareness among young professionals and facilitate their active involvement in addressing important civic issues facing communities of color in the Greater Pittsburgh area and beyond. We are guided by the needs of our communities, locally, nationally and globally, as well as by the Civic Engagement and Leadership Empowerment principle of the National Urban League's Five-Point Empowerment Agenda. Members are challenged to think globally and act locally on urgent issues that demand the advocacy.
Annual State of Black Pittsburgh Town Hall Meeting During this annual event members serve on the leadership panels and cite vast expertise and knowledge on the relevant topics. These ULYP‐GP leaders inspire audience members to understand their power at the grassroots level and connection between economically distressed communities and the opportunities to thrive through the Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh and through ULYP‐GP. |
